Frequently Asked Questions

My alarm didn't play my music — it only made a beeping sound.

This almost always means Alarmony was force-quit (swiped closed) before the alarm went off. iOS blocks a closed app from playing audio, so only the backup notification tone can ring. Leave Alarmony running in the background — you don't need to keep it open on screen, just don't swipe it away.

It can also happen if your alarm sound failed to load (for example, no internet connection for a radio stream). Alarmony always falls back to a reliable default tone so you still wake up.

Do my alarms still work if I restart my phone?

Yes. Your scheduled alarms survive a restart and will ring on time. As with a force-quit, the alarm will ring with the backup tone until you open the app, at which point your music or podcast takes over.

Do I need an Apple Music subscription?

No. Alarmony works fully without one. Default tones, Apple Music's six free live stations (Apple Music 1, Hits, Country, Club, Chill, and Apple Música Uno), and free news radio streams (Bloomberg, NPR, BBC, CNBC, and more) all play without any music subscription.

An Apple Music subscription is only required to wake up to Apple Music's paid catalog — individual songs, playlists, and personalized genre stations. That subscription is Apple's, and is completely separate from Alarmony Pro.

Is Alarmony Pro the same thing as Apple Music?

No, they are entirely separate. Alarmony Pro removes ads and unlocks Alarmony's features. It does not include access to Apple Music's catalog.

How do the free 7-day feature unlocks work?

Free users can unlock any premium feature — Music & Podcast Alarms, Gradual Volume, Staged Wake-Up, or Podcast Skip Intro — for 7 days by watching a short rewarded video ad. You can re-watch an ad to renew at any time.

If an unlock lapses, your alarm still rings. It simply falls back to the default tone and skips the extra features, so you'll never oversleep because of it. We also send you a reminder 24 hours before an unlock expires.

What does Alarmony Pro include?

Pro removes all ads and gives you permanent access to every feature, with no need to re-watch an ad every 7 days. It's available monthly or annually, and you can manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

How do I snooze without unlocking my phone?

Any of these work right from the lock screen, with no Face ID needed:

You can set your snooze length anywhere from 1 to 30 minutes when editing an alarm.

How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new device?

Open Alarmony, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you originally purchased with.

My alarm is too quiet.

Check your phone's media volume — Alarmony plays through the media channel, not the ringer. If your volume is very low at alarm time, Alarmony will automatically vibrate and raise the volume for you. You can also enable Gradual Volume to set your own start and target levels, or turn on Heavy Sleeper escalation for stronger vibration.
